ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Teams List

After the wait of eight years, the ICC finalized the fixtures of the 2025 Champions Trophy a few weeks ago. In the 1st match defending champion Pakistan is set to clash with New Zealand in Karachi on 19 February. A total of eight teams were finalized to participate in the mini-World Cup.

 

Pakistan, Bangladesh, New Zealand, or India are in Group A, and Australia, South Africa, Afghanistan, or England are in Group B. The two top teams in the points table from both groups will advance to the knockout stage. The semi-finals were held on 4 and 5 March.

 

The final of the trophy is decided to play on 9 March. As the event draws closer day by day, the ICC has given the deadline for squad submission as 12 January. Till now, only four teams have confirmed the squad for the Champions Trophy. England was the first to announce it, while New Zealand, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan declared their team lists on 12 January.

Group A

 

Pakistan

 

In Pakistan line-up, Mohammad Rizwan lead the team. Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Kamran Ghulam, Salman Ali Agha, Tayyab Tahir, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Hasnain, Khushdil Shah, Abrar Ahmad, Usman Khan and Faheem Ashraf.

 

Bangladesh

 

Bengal Tigers has confirmed their 15 members for the champions trophy. The left-hander batsman Nazmul Hossain Shanto is leading the team. While Soumya Sarkar, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmud Ullah, Tanzid Hasan, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Tawhid Hridoy, Jaker Ali Anik, Rishad Hossain, Taskin Ahmed, Parvez Hossai Emon, Nahid Rana Mustafizur Rahman, Nasum Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Sakib are also included.

 

New Zealand

 

In the Champions Trophy, Mitchell Santner is the captain of the Kiwi side. Kane Williamson, Will Young, Mark Chapman, Devon Conway, Tom Latham, and Daryl Mitchell are part of the team as batsmen. At the same time, all-rounders Glenn Phillips, Rachin Ravindra & Michael Bracewell are also included. As fast bowlers Ben Sears, Lockie Ferguson, Matt Henry, and Will O’Rourke are confirmed in the New Zealand team.

 

India

 

On 18th January, Ajit Agarkar announced India squad for the champions trophy. Skipper Rohit Sharma lead the team. While Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Arshdeep Singh.

 

Group B

 

Australia

 

The Australian team squad is confirmed on 13 January. With skipper Steven Smith, Sean Abbot, Travis Head, Alex Carey, Nathan Ellis, Aaron Hardie, Tanveer Sangha, Glenn Maxwell, Matt Short, Spencer Johnson, Ben Dwarshuis, Adam Zampa, Josh Inglis, Jake Fraser-McGurk & Marnus Labuschagne are part of the team.

 

South Africa

 

The squad under the leadership of Temba Bavuma , includes Heinrich Klaasen, Keshav Maharaj, Tony de Zorzi, Marco Jansen, Wiaan Mulder, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Aiden Markram, David Miller, Kagiso Rabada, Tristan Stubbs, Rassie van der Dussen, Ryan Rickelton and Tabraiz Shamsi.

 

Afghanistan

 

Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmat Shah, Ikram Alikhil, Sediqullah Atal, Azmatullah Omarzai, AM Ghazanfar, Gulbadin Naib, Noor Ahmad, Fazalhaq Farooqi, Farid Malik, Naveed Zadran Hashmatullah Shahid are included. Senior players Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan are also part of the Champions Trophy squad.

 

England

 

The pacer Saqib Mahmood returns after a long gap for the upcoming champions trophy. Skipper Jos Buttler, Jofra Archer, Jacob Bethell, Harry Brook, Joe Root, Gus Atkinson, Brydon Carse, Jamie Overton, Jamie Smith, Ben Duckett, Liam Livingstone, Adil Rashid, Phil Salt, Mark Wood are on the team list.
