Like all other ICC events, Warm-up matches are also scheduled just before the beginning of the tournament. This helps the visitors’ team try different combinations and make their best XI according to the conditions. Out of the 8 participating nations, only 5 will play the warm-up games.
The warm-up matches started from 14 February to 17 February. Host Pakistan, South Africa, New Zealand, Afghanistan or Bangladesh will participate in the practice games. At the same time, India and Australia have no warm-up game before the Champions trophy.
The Pakistan Cricket made a smart move and announced 3 teams with the name of Pakistan Shaheen’s. All 3 teams will play at different venues. One team was led by Shadab Khan on 14 February at Lahore on an encounter with Afghanistan. At the same time, Other teams are led by Mohammad Haris or Mohammad Hurraira on 17 February against South Africa & Bangladesh.
