Gill has joined Kohli on their Test Captaincy Debut

The new Indian Test captain added himself to the group of elite skippers. The 25-year-old boy in the first innings completed his fifth ton in a white jersey. With a calm knock, Shubman Gill has joined Kohli on their Test Captaincy Debut. After Kohli, he became the fifth Indian skipper to slam a hundred on his first match as a captain.

IND vs ENG First Test Day 1

After losing the toss in the opening game, the opposition side sent the Indian team to bat first. The captain walks in at no.4 as the latest replacement after Virat’s retirement. The skipper supports top-order batter Yashasvi Jaiswal to settle the team score. Both give 129 runs partnership stand.

After scoring his first hundred in England, Jaiswal was clean-bowled by the England captain. But the Indian captain doesn’t finish and collab with the vice-captain, Pant. They both finished day one, with a score of 359 for 3. Captain and Vice added 138 runs together until the last session of the day. Gill is present on 127* & Pant on 65* including two sixes.
