Sri Lankan left-hander is honored as skipper of the men’s ODI team of the year. No Indian cricketer can be part of the one-day XI of 2024. In the lineup, 10 players are from Asia, while one is from the Caribbean.
In the year 2024, teams will not get more games in 50 overs due to T20 World Cup. Team India only scheduled 3 one day games last year in which they faced defeat 2-0. Meanwhile, Pakistan and Sri Lanka organized more 50 overs matches to prepare for the upcoming trophy.
Three players(Gurbaz, Omarzai, Ghazanfar) from Afghanistan make up the ODI team of 2024. Charith Asalanka, from Sri Lanka, is rewarded as the team captain. Wanindu Hasaranga, Kusal Mendis, and Pathum Nissanka are also part of the ODI XI.
The Pace factory of Pakistan Haris Rauf also joins the lineup with his mate Shaheen Shah Afridi. The new young star Saim Ayub has also been chosen as an opener for the ICC ODI team. He has also been nominated as the Emerging Cricketer of the Year.
