Nicholas Pooran Retirement declared at 29 Years

The finest batter of the shortest format took retirement from International cricket. The 29-year-old with the highest number of T20 matches & runs for West Indies says goodbye to his national duty. Pooran is currently the most valuable batsman in the franchise leagues.

 

Nicholas Pooran on the first day of the new week, shared his decision with the fans. He said;

 

After much planning, I took the decision to reveal my retirement from the International stage. This sport we love has delivered and will continue to provide us happiness, special memories, and an opportunity to represent the Caribbean people. Wearing the Red, and giving everything I had when I came on the field. It’s difficult to put into note. To have led the side as a skipper is a honour, It will always tight near to my heart.

 

To the supporters- thank you for your unmatched love. You raise me in the hard moments and recognize the good ones with unmeasurable passion. 

 

To my homies, friends, and team members- thank you for walking this ride with me. Your faith and support raised me through it all.

 

Though this national level inning of my profession ends, my love for Caribbean cricket will never disappear, I wish the line-up and the region get success and strength for the upcoming tasks.

 

T20 Career

 

The former skipper of the Caribbean side made his first t20 appearance in 2016. His performance boosted his value and for the 6 months in 2022, he led the team as a captain. He played his last T20 game in 2024 against Bangladesh. Nobody in the world of cricket could expect Nicholas Pooran retirements when he was in the stunning touch.

 

Pooran scores 2275 runs for the national team in 106 matches. In 2024 he smoked the leading number of maximum’s. In IPL 2025, he hits 40 maximums in 14 games with a strike rate of 196.25. He is a regular part of the Lucknow Super Giants.

 

ODI Career

 

The lefty wearing the red cap for the first time in one day in 2018. With an almost 100 strike rate he added 1983 runs to his name in 167 one-day games. He appeared for the national team in the 2023 World Cup Qualifier last time in the 50-over format.
