On the night of 3 June, Royal Challengers Bangalore fulfilled the dream of fans. After 18 years of struggle, RCB converts the phrase “ee sala cup namde” into “ee sala cup namdu“. The supporters had waited so lasting for this time. Even after the failures in 17 seasons, they never down their support towards the franchise.

 

In the final of IPL 2025, RCB and Punjab fought with the same spirit. Because both were trying to find their first IPL trophy. But Bangalore finds a way in a close game. Virat Kohli can’t control his emotions in front of the packed crowd after winning their first IPL trophy.

Start of the Journey

 

In the debut season of the Indian Premier League, The side contained experienced stars & youngsters under Rahul Dravid’s leadership. But the result was not up to the expectations. The franchise finished in 7th place with only 8 points.

 

A Strong Comeback in 2009

 

In the next edition, Bangalore made a strong comeback and appeared in the final. But that was the first big heartbreak for RCB fans. They lost the final from DCH by six runs only. Overall, they ended in the third place in the points table.

In 2011, RCB led the points table with 19 points. They were reached a second time in the final in the last 3 seasons. But unfortunately, they choked badly in the final in front of CSK. The opposition beat them by 58 runs.

 

Kohli’s Peak

 

In 2016, Captain Virat was in its Prime form with his mates ABD and Gayle. Kohli raises 973 runs for the RCB in that season. Everything was going in their favour but, suddenly they lost their momentum in the final and faced another heartbreak.

 

Season of All Recoveries

 

RCB made an experiment and gave the side to young captain Rajat Patidar in IPL 2025. With the conquering performance, they enter the playoffs. In the final, they set a total of 190 and restricted the opponent to 184. Krunal Pandya’s extra efforts with the ball got the RCB to win their first IPL trophy.
