The T20 Premier League of India has been organized since 2008. With each passed season, it has become a trademark globally. It is harder for any team to produce wins continuously. The level of competition is tough so any team can beat any other franchise any day.

 

In the past 18 seasons, sixteen teams have appeared in the world’s richest league. However, currently, only 10 teams are in action. Few teams have gotten the title many times. However, there are some unsuccessful teams in the IPL, whose trophy cabinets are still empty.

1-Punjab Kings

 

The franchise held by Bollywood actress Preity Zinta and her partners has been active in the League from the opening edition. In the last seventeen seasons, the Kings just reached the final in 2014. They are still waiting for their first IPL trophy.

 

In the past, they have caught many big names, such as Chris Gayle, Brett Lee, and Kumar Sangakkara. But the main issue is that the franchise didn’t carry young talent and tried to rely on foreigners which was could not be such effective.

2-Delhi Capitals

 

The second most unsuccessful team in IPL is India’s capital city franchise. Delhi is jointly owned by JSW or GMR Group. From the beginning of the League, they included stars like AB De Villiers, Glenn McGrath, Gautam Gambhir etc.

 

In the early editions, they were the permanent favorites for the top 4 list. But never appeared in the final except 2020 IPL. In the last few editions, their combination looks positive fans are hoping for the title in the upcoming IPL seasons.

3-Royal Challengers Bangalore

 

The three times runners-up of the IPL, RCB included giants like Virat Kohli & Chris Gayle but is still considered as the waste team in the IPL. Their last final appearance was in 2016 against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

 

The bank of explosive batting has always seen a lack of experience in bowling. Due to inexperience in the bowling department, the team always collapsed in the crunch situation. RCB’s win probability percentage is 47.26 after playing 256 matches.

 

4-Sunrisers Hyderabad

 

The Sunrisers were found in the replacement of Deccan Chargers. In their third edition in 2016, they won their first IPL trophy. But after 2016, the instant decline started and they reached their worst phase in 2021.

 

Currently, Hyderabad is seen to be an explosive and hard competitor. They are more dependent on their away players like Pat Cummins and Travis Head. But due to bad performances in the past seasons, their match-winning ratio is 47.8 only.

 

5-Rajasthan Royals

 

The winners of the first edition are on the list of IPL unsuccessful teams. After an impressive start to the journey in the IPL. Rajasthan failed to repeat their consistent performance like that again.

 

Under the captaincy of Shane Warne, RR registered their first title of the League. Their success chances for each match are 49.54 percent after 222 matches in the Indian Premier League.
