Test cricket is the longest format of cricket and is called the test of cricketers’ skills and stamina. In 2019, the ICC took the initiative to make it more exciting by starting the World Test Championship. It is a two-year Cycle in which all test nations play a series, and then the top two teams in the WTC points table face off in the final.

After the 2019 Cricket World Cup, the Ashes was the first series in WTC history. In the first World Test Championship final New Zealand and India clash at the Lords in 2021. Where New Zealand lifted the WTC trophy. Their second final was also held in Lords in 2023 and this time Australia held the trophy by defeating India.

WTC 2025-27 Cycle Schedule Team Wise

India

The two times runners-up of the WTC final has scheduled 3 away series and 3 home series. In away tours, India will play on the soil of New Zealand, England and Sri Lanka. In their home test series, they host the famous BGT to face Australia, they will also play with South Africa and West Indies.

South Africa

In the home series, Proteas will invite Australia, England or Bangladesh to play. While on an overseas tour, they will clash against Asian teams Pakistan, India and Sri Lanka. They start their test championship season in India after the Champions Trophy.

New Zealand

Kiwis will welcome West Indies, Sri Lanka and India for the home series. In their foreign plans, they will travel to neighbours Australia, England and Pakistan.

Australia

The second WTC winner Australia will play with New Zealand, England and Bangladesh on their home soil. In the away series, they face Africa, and the West Indies and play the Border Gavaskar Trophy in India.

England

In the WTC 2025-27 Cycle, England will play with India, Pakistan and New Zealand in their home conditions. In the overseas schedule, they went to South Africa, and Bangladesh and for Ashes, they toured Australia this time.

Pakistan

Shaheens will also play three home series and three away series in WTC 2025-27. In their own conditions, they faced off against Sri Lanka, South Africa, and New Zealand. In the away plans, they play test matches with West Indies, Bangladesh, and England.

West Indies

The West Indies will face Australia, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Caribbean grounds in WTC. During the outside tours, they play with India, New Zealand and Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka

ICC designed a Sri Lanka WTC scheduled to host 3 test series against India, Bangladesh and South Africa. In away programs, they will play with New Zealand, West Indies and Pakistan.
